Lady of the tack here, feels like it’s been a while since I’ve posted… I’ve been pretty busy and have pretty much zlch to show for it (it seems my ability to take my camera out of my bag and document stuff has been VERY poor of late.

Had a lovely birthday, thanks for asking, Simon and G-Funk was brilliant as I’m sure you all expected. I got hideously drunk and ended up spending most of my actual birthday horribly hungover, ate chocolate cake for breakfast on the floor of a friends apartment whilst watching “The Morning Show” for about, oh half the day.. hahaha and had a flat phone with no charger so missed ALL of my birthday calls, um and then had to catch a 3 hour train home which was filled to the brim with screaming teenagers with camera phones, ohhhhh the joy! Nah it was actually alright and Noods got me that hella cute Disney ring I was banging on about an age ago and I had yummy Mexican and Sangria for tea, so the day rounded out pretty nicely… I took one photo and this was it…

The sun sets on my 27th birthday in the back streets of Newcastle, its poetic right? bahahaha.

About a month ago, I posted about RiP: A Remix Manifesto. Part of this movie follows the story of Jammie Thomas. Watch:

Not only is this insanely ridiculous, Jammie is now being charged 1.92 million (USD), that’s $80,000 per song.

Please do your bit by voting on the Jammie Thomas Legal Defence Fund. You can also help raise funds for an appeal. It doesn’t take long. SUPPORT!

And if you haven’t seen RiP yet, get all the deets here.

I thought customs stole this, because it was too cool to pass on…Lucky Hayley (that’s me) was welcomed home yesterday by this amazoid package from Betty Jane. It just so happened that Betty Jane got her hands on a Tshirt that she knew I would die for so she sent it to me. How nice is that? But that’s not all….

Lets go ahead and make the sweeping observation that all the good looking men in Melbourne have either gone to Europe for Summer or they are hiding at home with their girlfriends, neither is bringing me any joy. So whilst the eye candy has well and truly gone to shit in my favourite city, the Northern hemisphere boys just keep getting better.

You know how I’m into my nautical themed get up right? Well just found some morrrrre…

Check out these cuties from A.P.C:

_dsc9101ajpgMmmm I’d love to rock these with a dark denim mini, hella tanned legs and some wooden stacked chunky tan 70s heeled sandals. Ooh and some tortoise shell sunnies. HOT. Anyone wanna give me $130 bucks? No?

_dsc9094ajpgArrrgh is this darling or what? You could get away with so much in this dress. You could shop lift, root someones boyfriend and get so drunk you fall down in that gap between the train and the platform (just the usual weekend then) and noone could get pissed at you. They’d just be like “awwwww, what a darling dress she has on, let’s not press charges.” I want this so bad!! Its like almost 400 bucks though, pffft. Can Sportsgirl rip this off already? I bet somewhere Soph just had a phantom shiver go up her spine. Haha. Sorry babe.

Well I have been for a while now, but my net at home got capped and was too busy at work (still am) to use the net here. Sick at home today so thought I’d take some time to try and retell my Sydney adventures. I got back on Saturday and I gotta say, Sydney was pretty awesome. The weather amazing, the people all nice, the city so clean. It’s like the less bitter and negative little sister of Melbourne. I love Melbourne for all it’s grittiness and “culture” but there’s something really refreshing about sunshine, prettiness and just a new place in general. Probably helps that I was staying with the awesome SJ in Newtown (pretty dope suburb, close to everything and heaps of cafes, shops, bars) rather than the raging anus hole that is Tottenham (pretty shit suburb, close to syringes, crackhead families and bashings of indian people) so it really isn’t a fair contest but you get the idea….

    dsc02832

Look at that sunshine, isn’t it amazing? It was hella warm too.

dsc02825I was in town for the Nike showing of the Spring 09 range. The lovely Lu and Sarah at Nike sorted me and SJ out with some of the new Air Safaris which I showed earlier. Soooo comfy. I’ll never be able to wear heels again hey. Was some other cute pieces there also… Read More… » » » » »

I got some pretty rad presents this year, and not because they were big ticket designer items that cost a million dollars and were made by Marc Jacobs, like seriously thoughtful amazing wonderful presents.

Benny Z gave me cheese. Not just any cheese, two French, aged, semi hard cheeses from Richmond Larder and delivered them to my fridge so they didn’t manky.

He must have taken note of the fact that Gruyère is my favourite cheese because they are in a similar family with slightly different tastes and textures Read More… » » » » »

    …at Sushi Burger

Today while I was deciding what to eat for lunch, I wanted something different. I’ve been sick of the same old shit. I even hit up Urban Spoon on my phone and got it to search endlessly in the hope it would find something new and exciting for me to eat.

Then I remembered that the Opulent boys reviewed a place called Sushi Burger last summer. Needless to say, after checking the website, I ran up a few blocks to get one (it’s true, I ran…part of the way).

Behold the amazing sight that was before me:

They go for about $5.50 each. I was hungry so got 2. Deep fried fish and the teriyaki chicken. How cute are the drawings the guy drew on my burger container? Teriyaki wins!

Apologies for the crap phone pics, but I know you all wanna take a close up look:

So I’m pretty much eating here from now on. Oh, and they do a KILLER daifuku!

I remember being in the city many years ago, being hassled by talking to a Scientologist (see how I made it a proper noun, like it’s something real?). No, I didn’t want to buy a book or do the personality test and find out new things about myself. No, no no.

The man eventually went away politely excused himself and said, “Tom Cruise is waiting for you.”

    “What?”

“Tom Cruise will be waiting for you” and he gestured towards Crown.

How did he know? HOW DID HE KNOW?

    Raaaaaa!

All I’d like to say is, hopefully while our new neighbours are shacked up at Crown, there will be no road closures, no pathways blocked and no gawking pedestrians getting in my way.

    Kthnxbye.

No fried chickens and hold the coke.

Its come to that middle part of the year where I feel like I’ve had christmas and new years and birthday and easter celebrations for six straight months, alternating between meat, champagne, cake and chocolate whilst trying to consume alcohol at the rate that I would if all distilleries and vineyards were permanently shutting down.

I feel hungover, tired, full and lethargic. I get tired watching the Biggest Loser. That could be because I am hungover (thanks Strorbz) or because of the Lucky Coq pizza, cider, jumbo popcorn, jumbo coke and pods for lunch/dinner (thanks Chris) but I know this feeling of yuk very well, it can be attributed to what I call ‘enthusiastic boozing’.

Shots on the weekend? why not. After work drinks? lets! Its past 11am. It would be rude not to!

Um where did all my money go and why is there a box of cheddar shapes next to my bed?

Its time for some time-out. And while there are no birthdays on, no gigs, no important events where a condition of entry is ending up slaughtered I think it might be time for some abstinance. Generally when I lay off the sauce for an extended period of time/days its amazing how good I feel. I start eating better because I’m not hungover, I start sleeping better because booze fucks with your zzz’s and suddenly going for a run seems like an excellent idea! As does being nice to people, generally not being grumpy and never being late to work.

Miggs and I came up with (slash stole off someone else) Octsober, by which for the whole month of October one refrains from drinking any alcohol. We’ve had some successfull attempts, we’ve had some where a certain person lasted 48 hours but I think I’d like to debut July-sober in 2009 and start tomorrow morning, the first day of the next half of the year.

I can’t guarantee any success, I may last till Thursday, but I am so sick of feeling like I ate a whole animal and drank a litre of scotch that I have to give it a go. And now that I am working every weekend until August I figure its a good time to start. I’ll keep you posted (and hopefully won’t get sprung with a longneck at Section 8 by Guy this time around)

    photo-10

Hey bitches. First day of Syders down. Such a purdy city. SO sunny, the weather is amazing and not cold at all. I swear the people are nicer in Sydney or at least the cab drivers. I used a card and was like “i’m SO sorry” because cabbies go ape shit in Melbourne and basically spit in my eye if they even see me holding an eftpos card. Sydney reminds me heaps of Brisbane.

Don’t know how I got through today. Arrived late last night, managed to drink 3 bottles of red with SJ and Danny on an empty stomach…well I had some corn chips. I guess I was overexcited about getting outta Melbs. Woke up at 6am sick as a fucking dog! Threw up multiple times, always a great start to a day in a city you don’t know full of meetings. Luckily for me everyone was hella nice and laid back so I didn’t need my game face on too hard.

The gorgeous girls at Nike were lovely as ever, new season is looking hawt. I want a couple pairs! And then at the end they gave me a pair of the air max safaris I had my eye on, yes! Love them!! I’ll post pics when I’m back but check this pic.

I also looked through the city a bit and bought the blazers I’ve had my eyes on for ages which were super cheap.  Yay. SJ has them, don’t hate me babe! haha.

Anyway, gonna watch some cable and try and get my shit together for an exhibition which started, 10 minutes ago. The thought of alcohol right now makes me wanna die but. Shudder.

    Catch yas!
