Well I have been for a while now, but my net at home got capped and was too busy at work (still am) to use the net here. Sick at home today so thought I’d take some time to try and retell my Sydney adventures. I got back on Saturday and I gotta say, Sydney was pretty awesome. The weather amazing, the people all nice, the city so clean. It’s like the less bitter and negative little sister of Melbourne. I love Melbourne for all it’s grittiness and “culture” but there’s something really refreshing about sunshine, prettiness and just a new place in general. Probably helps that I was staying with the awesome SJ in Newtown (pretty dope suburb, close to everything and heaps of cafes, shops, bars) rather than the raging anus hole that is Tottenham (pretty shit suburb, close to syringes, crackhead families and bashings of indian people) so it really isn’t a fair contest but you get the idea….

Look at that sunshine, isn’t it amazing? It was hella warm too.

dsc02825I was in town for the Nike showing of the Spring 09 range. The lovely Lu and Sarah at Nike sorted me and SJ out with some of the new Air Safaris which I showed earlier. Soooo comfy. I’ll never be able to wear heels again hey. Was some other cute pieces there also…

dsc02821Like the new skinny dunk in checks! Pretty damn cute huh? These babies and a short summer dress would look real sassy. They come in navy blue too.

dsc02824Here’s a better pic of the Safaris. I love them!

dsc02828This chick made us some tees too. I kinda wanted mine plain (the decals were a little ed hardy-esque) but decided to opt for one on the back of a tigers face.

dsc02831SJ and I had a pretty epic Japanese lunch while I was in town also. Though we were too hung over to eat most of it. I just realised today that we never got the miso we ordered! Why I never! Soft shell crab was a bit of an experience. Felt like I was eatting a goddamn spider. Stupid for me to eat most of this stuff also as I’m semi allergic to shell fish (but in denial). Later that day my throat swelled up like a had the flu, dodgy! I gotta cut that shit out I guess. But I love salt and pepper squid :(

dsc02839I went to the Fbi fundraiser but SJ had the migraine from hell so she had to bail, I stayed for a bit and then carried on to the city where I met up with THIS one. Albeit briefly. Ended out pretty late that night but feel as though I didn’t see much. Hip-hop gigs in Sydders are weird. This one was particularly weird though, there was like 20 cops out the front and drug dogs! Patting everyone down and shit. Heaps of guys got busted with joints. Boringggg. Where da party at Sydney? Damn.

dsc02840Next day we had a giant brekkie in Newtown. Bacon, eggs, mushrooms, hashbrowns and freshly squeezed OJ, yummmm. Then we strolled around, and peeped Sydney’s graff lane. Can’t remember the name but had some sweet pieces. I felt like one of those sad tourists that take pics of Degraves st but whatevs! haha. I like this one!

dsc02841Sickkkk. Woah, I keep saying sick. I’m truly becoming Melbournised, nooooo.

dsc02843Hellooo!

dsc02844This one was rad and giant! There’s SJ pointing out walls of interest hahah.

dsc02861Also stumbled across this little vintage market on our walk. Lots of overpriced shit but I managed to find this rad cheap store. Scored this awesome bat wing shirt for a fiver. This photo does not do it justice…

dsc02862Check that print, fressshhh. Haha. I love retiree chic.

dsc02863Also scored these sweet watermelon earrings from the same shop. They had strawberry ones too but they kinda looked like a vagina haha. The chick gave me this cool floral tropical shirt too for free coz i had a hole in it. I have my summer attire on lock.

Well that’s all. Now I’m back in rainy Melbs. Managed to score some kind of cold/flu along the way too. Feel like shit balls. Think I might have a green tea and hit bed.

Byesss.

    Ahhhhhhhh looks so aweseme lady!

Skinny dunks squash my feet but fuck, I think I need those navy ones. No, I don’t think so – I do.

    You are one lucky lady.

Yayy looks like you had fun. Rikki is doing exactly what I feel like doing sometimes – eating your head.

Retiree chic is a SICK trend because they all wear heaps of gold and sparkle. Savers is my favourite for finding floral, gold embossed, probably dead lady clothing.
