Hey W.A.
Via The Butcher Shop

Yesterday Western Australia’s Legislative Assembly voted to ban the sale of spray paint and markers over 6mm wide to people under 18. Next week the bill will be debated in the Upper House.
If passed, this will see WA have the most restictive laws in the country. It will make it a criminal offence to sell a 5 year old a packet of crayons. A 10 year old fabric markers. A 17 year old student spray paint for their school assignment. There is no exceptions made for educational or employment purposes as there other in other states.
If you would like to be part of the debate now is the time to write letters to your Upper House members.

This is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard!
ew… when i was over there last christmas they actually had an anti-graffiti campaign like… trying to make kids think it was uncool or something. i can’t remember it exactly but it was totally lame and missed the point.
it makes me laugh how they think they’ve got a graffiti problem. obviously never been to Melburn.
It’s insane!
Stores can’t sell spray paint here in Tassie to anyone under 16. But nothing about markers.
Kids will get around the law.. like getting older people to buy them or their parents say they need them for school.
Same as what 15 yr old kids do with Alcohol. Get someone older to buy it!
This is the lamest thing i’ve ever heard in my life.
Kids NEED crayons, dammit!
