Ahhh this weekend has me turning my frown upside down HARD! I love this weather. So so good. It’s got me all excited about Summer all over again! And what’s Summer without Summer Jams right? When it comes to Summer Jams the music I like to listen to falls under two categories. a) ‘tanning music’ which could also be described as ’stripper music’ it’s all about Kool Keith, Busta, Fabolous, Drake all that good horn-dog shit. You really need that music while tanning to pump up all those sexual juices, so when you’re getting too hot and wanna bail you go “NO! I NEED TO LOOK STRIPPER HOT, TOUGHEN UP!” I’m sure this would also work for ‘working out’ but I wouldn’t have any idea about that kinda shit. Haha. The second kinda music I like to listen to is kinda cruisey laid back stuff. Like the Beach Boys (cliche but good, Don’t Worry Baby is one of my all time favourite songs EVER)

Isn’t it just dreamy? I think it would make a good wedding dance song (yes ovaries make me think of these things) especially if you got married in Hawaii! Ahhh enchanting! haha
Another song I fucking LOVE is by this group called Coconut Records (best name ever!). I think it’s got members of Rooney and like Jason Schwartzman is in it and shit. I know I’m not usually the guitar music kinda peep but this song is soooo nice! Plus the main reason I like it is because it sounds like it should be on the OC. California, the OC theme song was recorded by Phantom Planet, another group who has shit to do with Schwartzman. I love all that shit man. Totally Beach Boys circa Pet Sounds kinda vibe. Plus I can pretend I’m Marissa all forlorn after Vulcheck fucked me over for the millionth time at the pier while I sip from my hip flask. Check it, I LOVE it. It’s impossible to download from ANYWHERE.

Isn’t it the cutest. I just wanna drink on the beach and mac tanned boys who promise me the world hahaha.
Okay lastly, if you’re even still following this rant, my new fave fave fave shit to listen to right now is Mayer Hawthorne. Yes, I know he’s a bit trendy or whatever at the moment but he’s fucking rad. It’s all just crushed out soul. I think he’s a really cool guy on the scene and it’s sick Stones Throw are into this shit. This is my fave video at the moment. It makes me wanna be in LA SOOOO BADDDDD. Just summer time, chilled, hot skaters, eating fast food, the beach, art exhibitions, house parties! Ahhhhh i LIVE for all that shit. It shows you also that you can really make a sick little vid with not much of a budget. It’s got such an awesome vibe. I just wanna climb into it! haha.

Don’t you just love it? His whole album is really sick. So buy it!! Great Summer time music fo sho.
