New job, new shoes.

I start a new job tomorrow, and I have those new job nerves... you know the ones where you question whether you're capable of the job, will you enjoy it and will you encounter any unfavorable people... this is normal right? Well one thing that makes me feel better about it all is the fact that I get to buy myself a "new job' present, a much better pat-on-the-back. Of course I choose to buy a new pair of shoes, Peter Jensen shoes no less, that are currently on sale over at fashion-fave ASOS. I don't own any purple OR red shoes so these definitely fill a gap in the wardrobe... plus I think they will look ardorbs with ankle socks and short skirts/shorts. Right?

Wacky weekenders

So last weekend I headed off with the friendship-high crew for a log-cabin adventure all in celebration of our dearest Lukie's dirty thirty!

We stayed in Wollombi which is this gorgeous picturesque part of the world near the Hunter Valley vineyards, and ate, drank, played golf (well the boys and Pockets did) and just generally had fun.. I love weekends away with friends. BEST TIMES EVER.

The Saturday night was the main night of festivities, with a massive feast, we're talking pork ribs, thyme roast chicken, sugarcane prawns, Korean beef, hallumi and pomegranate salad, beetroot and goats cheese salad, tomato and bococini salad (notice all of the salads have different cheese in them ahaha, fattys!) beans, roast corn, home made coleslaw... I could go on but I making myself hungry. I swear everytime we  go away together I gain 5 kilos. But what evs, it's worth it! We also had to dress-up... wait for it Alex, your worst nightmare... Paranormal Gaga!!! What fun! Anyhoo here's a bunch of piccies knicked from Mixxie...

Friday night was my birthday as mentioned, and when they wanted to bring out the cakes without me seeing them Mixxie organised the one activity that they knew would distract me... A PHOTO SHOOT! haha I'm such a loser. Posing with 4WDs mag, Ooooo yeah.

Birthday Bea

It was my birthday last Friday. I had 4 different birthday cakes, caramel cheesecake, a mountain of donut king, a Bread-Top dog AND an amazing choc/hazelnut patisserie number... and best believe I ate considerable amounts of each. In other birthday related news my work mate Tony, having discussed months ago my actual approval of the Princess Bea royal wedding hat (don't be haters!), decided to gift me one for my birthday! Hahahah... I wore it for most of the morning, until I had to help with job interviews in the afternoon... didn't want to put them off too bad.

I'm one of those people who loves others birthdays but hates my own, but this year I decided to cut the bratty crap and just enjoy the day for what it is... and I did, ate like a swine, drank like a fish and indulged in some barnyard pole dancing to Roisin Murphy and  Nelly Furtado. Perfecto.

The big bun look for the little-locks girl.

Please ignore this post if you already know about the wonders of these weird foam hair donuts. But being a fine-haired lass I thought I would give them a shout out as I have only recently discovered their magic.

Do we all remember Carrie's penchant for big-ass buns in SATC?

I'm only a little embarrassed to admit that I did indeed love Carrie and the show, Noodle was not allowed to even speak to me when it was on. Yes I'm afraid it's true. I also loved the huge bun... and now it is mine! Well not quite as big as the ones above but look...

Pink Panther

I mentioned ages ago that I bought those ridonkulous Senso boots but I thought today I would show them to you in all their sweet pink glory...

Jacket and top: Op-Shop. Skirt: Handmade Thai number from the markets. Bangles: Diva, Gifts and Op-Shop Shoes: Senso

I went a bit cray-cray with the photoshopping, haha forgive me... Anyway these shoes kick arse, they are super high but are very comfy regardless, and I have gotten lots of compliments and inquiries every time I've worn them.

Thea Cadabra gives good shoe.

Remember this book I posted about recently?

Well my friend Luke has just clued me in on the amazing shoe designer whose work graces the cover, Thea Cadabra.

I think this quote from the lady herself says it all, "Wearing wonderful shoes is a truly uplifting experience."

Check out some of her other amazing  fantasy footwear...

Melb Girl Hang!

So I was in Melbourne over the weekend for my friend's engagement party but on a happy side note I also got to meet the very gorgeous Tammy, aka Obnoxious Owl...  It's always funny when you meet someone who's blog you read, you have had this insight into them through their writing but at the same time don't really know them at all, well I can happily report that Tammy is a complete gem. Mayorette (and my kinda sis-in-law) Alex and her darling friend Celeste were in on it too, who doesn't  love a good girl hang! I of course didn't take ONE photo the whole time I was down so the above is my rendition of what went down, well kinda, in my minds eye... there was also quite a few more layers of clothing involved, was pretty cold hey!

Best of the Met

We all love a good gander at what the beautiful people are wearing don't we, and one of the best parties of the year for this is the Met Costume Ball, everyone steps it up a notch, and unlike other ceremonies, outlandish "couture" is encouraged... GAME ON!

For a very comprehensive sticky beak I suggest heading over to Vogue, I love how you can zoom in on all of the dresses details, and faces over there... see what's really going on, who's botoxed up and what not!

Anyway my top 5 looks of the ball are as follows...

1. Iman Abdulmajid

David Bowie knew what he was doing when he put a ring on it.. her ageless beauty is just ridonkulous, what other 55 year old do you know that could look this good in a plunging gold sequined jumpsuit I ask you? What 35 year old even?? I bow before thee oh goddess!
