Not usually a big poster of streetwear shiz on here (I overdose on it at work so it’s all about puppies and toucans here my friends) but this collection is SICK! It’s been out for a minute now but just saw a few more pics pop up on Estevan’s blog which are sick. Fuck I love that dudes’ work. His aesthetic is so so solid. He’s been doing it for a while now but his shots always look so fresh and pop off the page. I think I like his colour stuff even better than his black and white even. Both are awesome. We got the LA Woman book at work and it’s soooo good. Latina women are fucking amazing. I guess we forget because there are none in Australia!
The range by Cassette Playa x Stussy (international, Stussy Australia is a fucking joke, thanks for ruining yet another awesome brand Pac-Brands, Freshjive anyone?) is awesome!! There’s a lot of collabs out there, most of which are shit or superfluous but this one is perfect! Both aesthetics sit together really well. I would wear any of this stuff. Especially that acid wash jacket *swoon*….

Ok so I will admit that the people behind Repeat After Me, are friends of mine however I’m sure you’ll want to check them out regardless.
Repeat After Me is a blog/online store selling awesome vintage and retro finds, they have some really excellent dresses for sale and after seeing them first hand I can testify that they’re not only awesome designs but also in really great condition. I’ve already bought 3, hahaha, so much for saving! (If my camera wasn’t busted then maybe I would do a photo shoot)
So if you’re in the mood for a hot frock go check them out, they have heaps of new stuff ready to go and will be updating their store often PLUS they sell at really reasonable rates wih most things around the $30 mark and a lot of stuff being listed as buy-it-now for people who hate bidding wars. How super excellent is Ruth Flowers? A 70 year old DJ from Bristol.. She’s a hit in the Paris clubs apparently and I can totally see why.

I just can’t quit this bitch damnit! Paid 100 bucks to go to her concert and it fucking sucked balls and I should hate her but I don’t. I hate the industry! Not poor brit brit, she’s like a xanied up lamb at the slaughter. She shouldn’t of been there! Anyway that’s a whole other kettle of fish because this post is to marvel at glory of Brit Brit. She recently shot this campaign for Candies an el cheapo shoe company that somehow (and this is the weird part) got Terry Richardson, Annie Leibowitz (!?) and some other dude that I’m told is noteworthy on board to shoot her. This is just bizarre. It’s like Cotton On getting Akira Isogawa on for a range. Actually didn’t that happen with Bonds or something? Errrgh. Collabs can be so depressing.
Anyhoo, I’m just loving seeing brit back in action. She looks smoking in that bikini (and ok, kinda cringey in the shorts with the roses) It’s like the good ol’ popstar sexy brit. Not the brit with pram and bad weave of nowadays. If a train wreck like brit can get a good body together maybe there’s hope for me afterall!
Well I have had a nice V day thus far… Coffee, Sunday papers, BIG Breakfast and a looksie in the Newcastle gallery.. very relaxing (All in Pink Floral’s of course… got to theme it up, not quite as risqué as Al’s outfit though! Hahah!)
Anyhoo the gallery had a contemporary ceramics exhibition on featuring work by an Australian artist called Penny Byrne.. Very cool stuff.
She uses found objects, mostly tacky ceramics she finds in Op Shops, and gives them a sinister twist, a lot of it’s quite political but I really like them.
Penny sounds like an interesting lady too… She is also a ceramics conservator, restoring priceless ceramics, has trained as a lawyer and is heavily involved in human rights campaigning… wowsers, makes you feel like a slack-arse right?

A Fraggle fashion moment…
Well it’s yet another fashion post from me, like Alex I am without a camera and can’t document anything interesting in my own life at present, which includes the MAJOR haul I had yesterday at The Smith Family op shop and the fact that I am currently house sitting a MASSIVE manor with it’s own jetty over looking a lake for a month… how posh am I? But yeah no camera to document anything so it doesn’t make for very interesting posting, hopefully I will remedy this real soon.
Anyway back to the subject of this post, a one Louise Gray, a London fashion designer, who is to quote a term that seems to flying around heaps in the fashion-blog world, KILLING IT! Hahaha I love teen talk.
So her latest collection is awesome, I love the baggy silhouettes (it looks so comfy and excellent for fat days) and the whole mix, match and clash vibe of the whole thing, and of course the colourfulness of it (I’m never going to be one of those girls that wears well tailored monochromatic outfits I’m afraid) oh and the use of (Faux?) fur… It’s all too cute… along with the almost androgynous styling. Anyway check it out.
The above reminds me of the time around 4 years ago I started colouring my eyebrows in pink for the occasional night out… you know cause I’m so avant-gard and shit hahahaha.
