Mini Adventure

It’s been a long week and it’s time for a break. My fiance is doing hair for a wedding on a small island about 45min from where we live so the dogs and I are going to tag along for a mini vacation. There will be farmers markets, patchouli and hippies galore. I leave you with this site, it has us laughing pretty hard last night at dinner.

80s Mickey and MJ

How good is the 80s incarnation of Mickey?? I pretty much love Mickey through the ages but he really found his style footing in the 80s I reckon. Ditto for Minnie.

How good are both of their outfits! They’re little hipsters and they didn’t even know it. Look at Minnie’s creeper-esque loafers and loving Mickey’s gold watch and blazer, we looks like such a baller.

I also found these pics of MJ from back in the day, rocking Mickey really damn well. How good is his outfit? It’s hard to believe he ever had personal style when he dressed in Ed Hardy trcksuit pants and shit in his final days. How do people just completely lose a sense of style? I thought you kinda had it or you didn’t. The girl’s outfit above it super cute too.

Apparently Oprah is giving away a TV show which totally kicks that giving cars away thing in the arse. So people are sending in videos about what kind of show they want to do rah rah rah. Everyone should probably not bother though because this guy Zach should win it hands down. After watching his video I have realised I am a whingey bitch and need to obtain some of this guys humour and love for life. He also doesn’t go “woo!” about everything which makes him already better than Oprah.

Valley of the Dolls

I had two porcelain dolls when I was growing up that sat with great pride on my dresser… One had this cute blue gingham outfit on, with long blonde hair and a little straw hat and the other had a baroque clown costume on with red hair, I loved them both, right up until the moment my Mother let her friend’s twat child into my room whilst I wasn’t there, said twat child broke them both (along with some pink heart shaped glasses that I LOVED) I could of died, seriously, so when I stumbled upon artist Marina Bychkova and her “Enchanted Dolls” it reminded me of the ones I lost, Marina’s however are on another level when it comes to detail, sooo pretty, I can’t imagine the man hour’s that would go into these, they’re so life like it’s almost creepy… She makes all of the costumes and jewelery as well… mental.

Was procrastinating today and had a look through what seems to be my daily invite from Outnet (ease up dudes, seriously! You’re the karmaloop of highend retail spamming) but today the theme was ‘Poolside Luxe’ (God, luxe is wank of a word btw) which is of course right up my alley. Kaftans, bikinis, sandals, yes please! Yes I do realise the irony of saying all of this on what is the first day of Winter here in Oz Anyway check out the fabuloso jewellery that I found on the site by Stella McCartney! It’s been hella crazy around the homestead lately. There’s been an awesome roller derby bout (that’s what we call games), the major interior work on the house is done and my yard is being landscaped. I’ve been doing lots of hours sorting, de-junking and painting the house they know me by name at the paint store and the local dump. I’m excited to finish this all off over the summer and it looks like a good album to get this all done by is today’s new release from a favorite fellow Canadian of mine.
