Carnival!

Went to a pretty fun 30th on Friday night, the theme was Carnival, but the dress theme was cocktail? Go figure.

Looking swish no? Everything is op shop as per usual (apart from the Jessica Simpson shoes haha), I bought Noods the bow tie, he was unsure but I think he looks adorable!

Agenda (Part II)

Day two of Agenda yesterday. Had a nice feel to it, maybe because I've finally started recognising people from previous trade shows. After a year of barely knowing anybody, it's a really nice change to know names and faces.

Agenda

Day one of the Agenda trade show in Anaheim (yep, right across the from Disneyland and I have my annual pass, but no one to skip over the road with). I've spent the day eating peanut butter filled pretzles, chocolate pretzles and red vines. I'm not even stretching the truth here, I ate so many that I didn't have to eat lunch. Then I ate Jack in the Box for dinner. I'm the picture of good health!

Snoop is playing a free gig with free booze tonight but alas! I had to make my way back home to hit my first Spanish lesson (sorry Snoop).

I didn't get time to take too many pics today, but will be back again tomorrow hopefully with the work camera. Stay tuned!

Pssssstttt… Sale time!

Wow this seemed like a good idea when I was putting it together but now it seems that it's just narcissism at it's best!!! It's narcissism with a reason however and that reason is that my friends at Repeat After Me (from whom I have purchased all of the above amazingness) are having a one day only, pop-up-store, super sale. They really do have amazing stuff and at really reasonable prices.

Issue 22 Launch and Yone Exhibition

HOT DAMN! Have I been busy this week. Like insanoid. Going to work tmw is making me wanna cry but at the same time with all this stress there's always fun so it ain't all bad. This week Japanese photographer Yone was in town for his solo exhibition at Backwoods Gallery plus we had our launch the night before (and dinner with him and Backwoods crew the night before that, yup I did four nights in a row! Detox starts tmw) Here's a little recap of the week events...

I'm trying to do the outfit post thing still, but have decided to get the bf to be my photographer from now on as these self timer pics ain't cutting it! At any rate, this is what I wore Thursday night for the launch party. My legs look long for once though, I like!

Top: Keith Haring x Trash & Luxury (new!) Skirt: Supre Shoes: Singapore. Necklace: Magical closing down sale at this weirdo bead shop at Melbourne Central.

Hey all, we're officially launching the Friends issue this Thursday night at Sure store in the city and if you're my FRIENDS you better bloody come. There will be Grolsch beer and an awesome slideshow of holga photography from our cover artist Ellen Stagg. One of my favourite images from the spread is below. Some reallllly beautiful works in the series but didn't want to reveal too much. We'll be selling copies of the issue which come packaged all purdy in a ziplock back with a poster Ellen made just for us. So your Thursday night is sorted for a measley 10 bucks. Come on down from 6pm.

Memento Mori

Off to the opening night of Memento Mori later tonight, written by my friend Bradley Vincent, and being performed as part of the Sydney Fringe festival. I'm most excited, some much needed culture! Yes please!

"...the authenticity the author achieves in portraying and symbolising the complexities of intimate relationships. In just a few minutes we're effectively sold a life story; a love story, but ...not a soapy one. Written by Bradley Vincent, this is probably the best gay play I've ever seen. And a firecracker in the more generic sense, to boot."
Lloyd Bradford (Brad) Syke, Australian Stage

Pretty good review huh? If you're in Sydney and are interested come check it out tonight, or tomorrow, or Sunday!

Comic-Con!

Comic Con

I've wanted to go to Comic-Con for a long time, especially since CC and I hit Armageddon last year. So weird and awesome at the same time. Well, this year the event sold out in record time, so I completely missed out on tickets.  But I headed down to the convention centre anyway to take a few snaps. Here are some of my faves. Read more

Hola Mexico!

I've been so into Mexico since I can't remember when. The colour, the fucking BEACHES, the food, the hot mamcitas, arrghhh love it. I've decided I'm definitely hitting up Mexico when I go visit Hayles in San Diego next year. Finally my collection of 12 + bikinis will get the treatment they deserve, similarly my pasty white Melbournised skin which used to be an awesome shade of olive (I'll give you that Brisbane).

I found this Mexico themed fashion editorial which I think is kick ass. If anyone asked me if I thought you could make a sombrero look high fashion I would of said hell no, but somehow they managed to pull it off perfectly. Can't remember where I found this peeps, sorry.

Amazing! I would like her belt very much also...

Again, sooooo good. Whoever styled this has a huge talent.

Favela Rock / Dirtyrich launch Melbourne

Heads up Melbs, it's that time again - Favela Rock (I miss you, Fav!)

To celebrate the launch of Dirtyrich, 5 tokens will be hidden around the club - if you find one, you get your grubby little hands on a Dirtyrich prize pack featuring goods from MOB, Hellz and Dimepiece. There will also be random giveaways to the best dressed girls from Cubannie Links and LA fine.

I'm pretty sure most of those tokens will be hidden in shots of Tequila...or not. But better check, just in case.
