Oooh! I have really been feeling Nails Inc lately. I don’t exactly have the best nails, but I have a slight obsession with nail polish. It all started during a dramatic break up years back when, instead of cutting my hair, I started buying nail polish. Every. Day. Not even joking, I had a tub of it. I had to go cold turkey to quit my polish addiction but lately have been collecting a few bottles here and there.

Soowwweee. My life has been so hectic the last month including the purchase of a new house!!!! Waaaaazzzzzzoooooo!!! I can not describe the feeling of living with ones Father-in-Law for 3 years and then finally getting out into your own space again! It’s stupidly good.

With a new house comes a shit load of things to do, and we have been flat out. We have also been sans internet until last week. So excuses over here’s a few happy snaps of the past few weeks…

I also went down to Melbs and visited with friends, fams with a wedding chucked in for good measure but alas I took no photos. Was good times though.

And so that kind of gets you up to date on the amazing happenings of my life!

No, actually this is true. Some of you know that I had my fair share of Tequila back in August. Apart from that, I’ve been avoiding the booze a bit in general.

Plus our bar has been full of left-over bottles from the wedding so for a while there, I felt a little queasy just looking at it.

So this Thanksgiving weekend, I found myself in the kitchen…a lot. I wanted to make a batch of Maraschino cherries but since cherries aren’t in season at the moment I grabbed a bag of cranberries…kinda Chrismassy, right?

Cranberries

5 minutes in some simmering Maraschino and they’re done. Any longer and you’ve made cranberry sauce, but I don’t think that would be such a bad thing either. Sounds super easy if you try and block out the whole jar sterilizing thing ughhhh.

A quick look through the bar and I found the right ingredients for a Manhattan. I like it sweet so went for

  • 1 part Woodford Reserve
  • 2 parts sweet vermouth

Shake like crazy with ice and drop a couple of those cranberries in. Go!
